Esteve Espuña takes over the management of the company from his father, Xavier Espuña, who has held this position since 1975.

The new management team's strategic priorities are to consolidate its leadership in the sliced cured ham market and strengthen growth in key export countries.

Espuña announced, on January 25, the generational changeover of the company. Esteve Espuña took over the management of the family business, while praising his father, at the helm for 43 years.

"Under my father's leadership, Espuña has perfected the technique of packaged charcuterie, guaranteeing maximum food safety in its manufacturing processes. In addition, he initiated a process of internationalization that has taken us to more than 45 countries.

Xavier Espuña will remain linked to the company as President, with advisory functions in different areas of the company, with a special focus on R&D and production.

 

Renewal of the top management with a view to the future

Esteve Espuña joined the family-owned multinational in 2014, after accumulating international professional experiences working for Samsung in Korea or, domestically, where he held positions of responsibility in electronic design engineering Draco Systems, among other companies.

The projects that form part of the new medium-term strategic plan include consolidating Espuña's leadership in the sliced cured ham market, with a strong commitment to sustainability in packaging, and developing the refrigerated pre-cooked dishes business. Finally, to reinforce the company's growth in strategic export countries, such as France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the USA and Canada.
