IDDBA (The International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association)
Espuña is an active member of the IDDBA (The International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association), a nonprofit trade association whose membership includes over 1500 companies ranging from small independents to the world’s largest food corporations.
IFS (International Food Standard)
Food safety standard developed by business associations in Germany, France, and Italy. This certification is also used as a food safety standard in Austria, Poland, Spain, and Switzerland. Espuña Cured Ham plants in Utrillas (Teruel) and Refrigerated Dishes in La Pobla de Lillet (Barcelona) have this certificate.
BRC (British Retail Consortium)
Our plants have received the BRC (British Retail Consortium) certificate, a food quality and safety system endorsed by the British supermarket chains. We have periodic audits, which guarantee the professionalism and safety of our team, and certify optimum management of the quality on all our production processes.
TSG (Traditional Speciality Guaranteed)
The TSG (Traditional Speciality Guaranteed) distinction shows the tested quality of all our Serrano hams. This distinction recognizes not only the quality of the raw materials plus all the factors related to the preparation, production and curing process of Serrano hams, but also the physical-chemical and organileptic characteristics of the product.
Consorcio Serrano
We have obtained the Consorcio Serrano Seal of Quality granted by the Quality Department of the Spanish Serrano Ham Consortium, which guarantees the piece-by-piece production of exclusive Serrano Hams, with comprehensive quality control in the entire production process.
D.O. Teruel
Protected Designation of Origin and legislated by the Regulatory Board of the Teruel Ham D.O.P. The hams must be produced in this province of Aragon and meet the standards set by the regulations. At Espuña, we have facilities at Utrillas (Teruel) where we produce hams of great excellence with the official "D.O. Teruel" seal.
Ibérico Products
Our Ibérico hams are supported and certified by the rules of Ibérico Products, regulated by the Royal Decree 1469/2007. This certification guarantees the origin, feeding and curing of our Ibérico range.
V-Label
Our plant in La Pobla de Lillet (Barcelona) is certified under the V-Label. This certificate is an internationally recognized, registered symbol for labelling vegan and vegetarian products and services.
The SQF (Safety Quality Food)
Certification assures buyers and consumers that food has been produced, processed and handled according to the highest standards of food safety.
USDA Organic
USDA certified organic foods are grown and processed according to federal guidelines addressing, among many factors, soil quality, animal raising practices, pest and weed control, and use of additives.
